Winter~

Winter arrives

quietly

with frozen

force

A time

of rest

reflect~

Mother

whispers

wisdom

through

the wind

on frozen

limbs

embrace

the stillness

Rest within

Wise Woman

Winter begins…

City Lights…

Stopped at a light~

All four corners

stand souls with signs.

Cars and trucks

whizzing by

while HUMANS wait

on a coin or a bill…

The wealthiest country

history has known

stand the faceless souls

day after day.

Curled up in corners

sleeping in a box

standing in lines

for a hot box.

Don’t look at them

don’t speak

walk faster

we have shopping to do

and,

lunch is waiting.

Racing by

appeases the guilt?

Blame the lost

the Lonely

the Hungry

the Hurting.

Take the easy way

turn your head

close your heart?

City lights shine

as the under belly

Grows

it could be us

it already is

Don’t look

Don’t speak

tears blur

those

city lights…
